I had never played in the arcade before just on GC but I came to realize the arcade version was great. Well I changed schools and in my new university there was a small arcade and they had a SC2 machine there. And, given that I had the GC version, I could play as LINK! I dont care how good he was I loved to use him. My friend and I were always battling and there was a great single player mode with RPG elements and weapons you could unlock. A couple years later I had a Gamecube and I picked up Soul Calibur 2.
I bought a Dreamcast near launch with Soul Calibur 1 and I played a lot. And Soul Calibur 2 to me is the best entry. Not sure how many SC fans are on GAF but for me this is my clear number 2 fighting game series behind SF.
